Rally news 2007 - 2008 season
The 07 / 08 season never really got started for us this year as we moved house at the start of it. The dogs havn't been anywhere near as fit as they were the previous season and they have also had to change from a raw diet back to kibble while the renovations are going on. (nowhere to put freezers!!) We feel the change in diet has been a contributing factor as well as not enough training to an all round poorer performance this year. We started getting out more and getting back into a serious training regime in January but even then the dogs were struggling to get back to fitness and lacked the stamina they had while on the raw diet. We have managed to attend a few events this season. We were back at Balloch Wood run by the NSDSC and Cameron ran a four dog with Hermine (Wilsons mum) and Misty from the Gwaihir kennel. The two boys also ran at Culbin and then Quithel, both organised by SSHC. Quithel was a great event but unfortunatley Mo wasn't running well at all and ended up back seeing the chiropractor. He had put his back out again and was in a bit of pain this time, but after a few sessions with Marie his back was much better. Wilson has been enjoying some fun runs on the scooter and towards the end of the season had a few short runs with Mo and Norris. He is doing well and will hopefully be ready for next season joining the boys to make a three dog team. We are aiming to get out over the summer for some 'training' runs with friends to practice the all important passing and turns.
We hope to be running at NSDSC events during the 08 - 09 season and possibly a couple of SSHC Rallies. Hope to see you there.....
